This site is designed to be an additional useful resource in assisting you to complete the Suburban Knowledge of London more commonly described as The Yellow Badge.              

We now also have a small Green Badge callover group up and running and have spaces available for KoL students who would like a place to callover on Monday evenings from 6pm onwards.

 Suburban review

The Consultation paper is in the final draft stages and will be published as soon as possible. 

 

Following trade concerns, TPH is undertaking a review of suburban taxi licensing. To date two workshops have been held, the first was to address the underlying issues and the second was to look at a range of suggestions that had been put forward by the trade. These suggestions will be assessed by TPH and will form the basis for a consultation in early 2013. Some of these suggestions were related to the Knowledge. At present nothing has been ruled out or ruled in.

 

Until the consultation is complete applications for sectors 2, 6 and 7 will remain suspended.

 

Due to high numbers of existing drivers and students in the areas below TfL are currently not processing any new applications for :-

Sector 2: Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge. 

Sector 6: Merton & Sutton.

Sector 7: Hounslow, Kingston upon Thames, and Richmond upon Thames. 

Anyone already accepted as a student is not affected.
